Brutally Honest Bakery: More Than Just Cake?

The template for this blog helpfully informs me that I need to use this first blog post to introduce myself and explain why it is I've decided to inflict this blog upon the world.
Thankfully I know who I am (sweat on brow emoji) but why I'm doing this might be a bit trickier to explain.
So starting with what I know. My name is Amy and I'm the owner and founder of The Brutally Honest Bakery. I used to be a teacher (largely, a thankless task) but I gave it up to become a mum.
I set up the bakery after my son was diagnosed with multiple allergies and having encountered a very real struggle to find indulgent cakes in cafés and coffee shops that were free from dairy, egg, gluten and nuts, I decided to make my own.
Skip forward 7 years (yikes!) of hard work, ups, downs and arounds and I find myself sitting at my stainless steel bakery counter top writing this very first blog. Which brings me to why I'm doing it in the first place.
Well, I suppose I feel it is about time that I opened up the door to The Brutally Honest Bakery and shared a bit about what goes on behind the scenes. Bring a bit of humanity to the business. Share a bit about my experience of running a business. A bit about my experience with allergies and being a parent of a child with allergies. A bit about cake, I suppose, needs to be in there too. Apparently people like this kind of thing(!)? I mean I wouldn't know I'm naturally more of an introvert so it sounds like a terrible idea to me. But hey ho here I am. Besides I figure if no one wants to reads it at least I'm left with some kind of strange online diary of my journey with The Brutally Honest Bakery. What's not to like?
So I think I'll end it here for today. Quit while I'm ahead, so they say. Leave a comment if you like or don't, that's also fine. Until the next instalment so long :)

Thank you for introducing yourself, Amy! Your cakes are absolutely amazing (and I have tried many GF/ vegan cakes!) and I can’t wait til I’m in the JQ again to pick up some more 😊🙏.
